RUGBY LEAGUE REVIEW - MAY 2008 HEADLINES
PLAYERS TO SWITCH ALLIANCE
Several quality NRL players are considering their short term
international futures as World Cup nations look to secure
professional players to strengthen their squads. Melbourne prop
Brett White is rumoured to be considering representing Ireland in
the 2008 tournament. While securing the Cooma junior would be a coup
for the minnow nation, the lure of State of Origin representation
may prevent White from linking with the Wolfhounds. Find out more details in
the latest issue of
Rugby League Review.
COUNTRY TEAM OF THE CENTURY
Three Rugby League Immortals and seven Test captains were included
in the AAMI NSW Country Team of the Century announced at a gala
function at the Wollongong Entertainment Centre on April 30. The
strength of the 13-man side emphasises Country’s proud contribution
to the game over the decades, right through to the current NRL
competition. Find out more details in the latest issue of
Rugby League Review.
QUEENSLAND UNIVERSITIES TOO STRONG
QLD Universities proved too strong for their New South Wales
counterparts, easily running out convincing 48-4 winners at WIN
Stadium. The Blues looked strong on paper under skipper and current
Mounties Jim Beam Cup player Drew Dalton, but it was the Maroons
that took control from the outset. Read all the details in the
latest issue of Rugby League Review.
KNOW YOUR COACH
Rugby League Review looks at every coach in the NRL, their playing
and coaching record. We'll also find out who is the most successful
coach in the game. All the details are in the latest issue of
